Exploring inbreeding dynamics by considering reproductive bound and polygyny

چکیده
Inbreeding is a clinically significant measure of population dependent on human social structures including the size or cultural traits. Here, we propose an expanded and elaborate model to analyze inbreeding within where explicit polygyny bounds are taken into account. Unlike models presented so far, implemented biologically realistic assumptions that there disproportionate probability males reproduce (polygyny) female reproduction bounded. Using proposed equations, changed parameters represent degree, reproductive bound correlated mutation rate, total size. The disappearance numerous societies experienced results in long-lasting effect decreasing coefficient. Decreased with higher rate reveals similar results. After each factor analyzed, modeled dynamics coefficient throughout imaginary disappears late marriage becomes prevalent. In this group, gradually exponentially increases reflecting traits prehistoric society rising agricultural productivity. To observe how less marriage, feature modern developed society, affects dynamics, were assumed decrease after upsurge. can explain trend actual predict will be shifted when continue.

Selection and mating considering expected inbreeding of future progeny.
Animals most related or least related to current members of their breed were revealed by calculating the expected inbreeding of their future progeny. A sample of potential mates was chosen by randomly selecting 600 females from a recent birth year (1995). Relationships among the sample were computed by the tabular method. Relationships of other animals to the sample population were computed qui...
متن کاملKin selection and polygyny: can relatedness lower the polygyny threshold?
Resource polygyny incurs costs of having to share breeding resources for female breeders. When breeding with a relative, however, such costs may be lessened by indirect fitness benefits through kin selection, while benefits from mutualistic behaviour, such as communal defence, may increase. If so, females should be less resistant to sharing a territory with a related female than with a non-rela...
متن کاملInbreeding and reproductive investment in the ant Formica exsecta.
In social animals, inbreeding depression may manifest by compromising care or resources individuals receive from inbred group members. We studied the effects of worker inbreeding on colony productivity and investment in the ant Formica exsecta. The production of biomass decreased with increasing inbreeding, as did biomass produced per worker. Inbred colonies produced fewer gynes (unmated reprod...
متن کاملGenetic consequences of polygyny and social structure in an Indian fruit bat, Cynopterus sphinx. I. Inbreeding, outbreeding, and population subdivision.
Population subdivision into behaviorally cohesive kin groups influences rates of inbreeding and genetic drift and has important implications for the evolution of social behavior. Here we report the results of a study designed to test the hypothesis that harem social structure promotes inbreeding and genetic subdivision in a population with overlapping generations. Genetic consequences of harem ...
متن کاملPolygyny and HIV in Malawi.
We review the relationship between polygyny and HIV and identify a positive individual-level correlation, and a negative ecological correlation. We subsequently examine two mechanisms that contribute to the individual-level correlation. First, we find that men in polygynous marriages have more extramarital sex than men in monogamous unions (both in terms of self reports and in terms of spousal ...
